Angelina Jolie Relationship with his daughter To Read The History

After being separated from his daughter for nearly a decade and never spending time with his famous six grandchildren, Jon Voight finally spent a weekend in Venice with Angelina Jolie and her children. RadarOnline.com is reporting that the actor said it was wonderful to finally spend time with Jolie, her partner Brad Pitt and their children, and he was waiting for so long to hug his grandchildren. “…they are the most beautiful, loving kids you could imagine and I’m not just saying that because I’m their grandfather, they really are something special,” Voight added.

Voight also said that his daughter and Pitt are truly happy together, despite the tabloid rumors that surfaced last month, claiming they had broken up. He proclaimed that they are the most loving parents he has ever seen, and he was moved to see how his daughter is as a mother. “…I am so proud of her-she has so much love to give and to share with the children and with (Brad),” he also said.

The father-daughter rift began in 2001, the year their hit action movie “Laura Craft: Tomb Raider,” based on the famous video games, was released. Voight said during a television appearance that he felt Jolie needed help for what he called “her serious mental problems.” The next year, Jolie responded by saying her and her father no longer spoke. “I don’t hold any anger toward him. I don’t believe that somebody’s family becomes their blood…families are earned.”

Voight also said that his relationship with his daughter and her children is still a work-in-progress, and it has been for months. Their reunion wasn’t spontaneous, as the two have been speaking on the phone and via e-mail for months. “(Angie) had to feel it was the right time to bring me into the lives of her and the kids and after some work she decided the moment had arrived,” he said. “I hope I get to see them again soon. I want to spend as much time with them as possible.”
